@Doctor-Phibes said in For Aqua.....: Link to video You can skip the intro and go to 1:47... Most excellent. Bonus points for being funny and right. I love how it ended with French, too. Couple of parent brags. One, my daughter's pretty ahead in reading, which, cool. But even cooler than that, we were looking at a book she pulled out from the library and she said, "look, dad. THIS is an illustration. But not this. This is an image. And that's an image. And this one is an illustration." I don't think I ever even talked to her about any of this, I think she's just heard me bitching discussing important matters on some work calls.

Is that really true that the two sides of Congress have so little communication between them? Wow! I would have thought that there would have been "draft" copies out there going both directions.

(I dont know if it is only me, but does anyone else have problems in playing Twitter videos? I can see the Tweet, but when push play on the video, it just spins and spins and never starts. Maybe my internet?)

The cards can only be used at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores — and migrants must sign an affidavit swearing they will only spend the funds on food and baby supplies or they will be kicked out of the program. LOL

I'm looking forward to this. I just finished season 2 a couple of weeks ago. The exposure of small-town English stupidity and snobbery was wonderful. Somebody said he's done more for farming in one series than 30 years of the long-running BBC show Countryfile. We were out in that area of England last summer visiting the wife's extended family and briefly considered visiting the shop, but sanity prevailed.

@Jolly said in Remind me not to become a landlord in DC: So, why be a landlord? Good tenants can make you, bad tenants can break you. Good question. Our home has a two bedroom suite with full bath, laundry, and kitchen. Total area is about 1100 square feet. When we bought the house 25 years ago, we thought we would rent the suite and pay down mortgage. When we looked over the Provincial Landlord and Tenant Act and the supplementary municipal bylaws we decided against renting it out. The hoops a landlord has to go through to evict lay damage claims. Forget it. What we did instead for the first seven years was sign up with the student home stay programme. Does not fall under any the L & T Act or bylaws and you are paid cash. As the homeowner we had unfettered access to the suite 24/7. If your student causes trouble the agency immediately relocates them. Worked out to $600 / month cash towards the mortgage and taxes. Never had any problem. Most of students essentially became part of the family during their stay. Our favourite was a grad student from Mexico. Damn, could she cook great dishes!

By the way, it's performed by Christopher Riley. The last fugue, in Bb might remind @kluurs of something.

Lead and regular exposure to other toxic heavy metals. Mercury comes immediately to mind.

The last third of the video addresses illegal immigration. If if they’d just marry American citizens, they can be naturalized through marriage and at least in that sense marriage is a solution of certain class of immigration. It’s possible that marriage is such a good solution that some people marriage multiple times. Too lazy sift through the entire video but does that talking head say whether people who marry multiple times fair better than people who marry just once?
